Sloop Cottage | Binalong Bay
3 Bedrooms | 1 Bathroom | 6 Guests
Sloop Cottage presents as the quintessential beach shack, perfectly positioned on the doorstep of Taylor’s Beach (my favorite) and Sloop Lagoon. The cottage offers a functional and practical floorplan, with open plan living and welcoming “feel”. Families and friends alike would be able to imagine themselves in your space – which presents great value as guests can utilize the entire property comfortably and in style.
Sloop Cottage is the perfect “base” for guests to stay and explore the East Coast of Tassie, as they can head South to Freycinet National Park and the Vineyards, North to Derby, or stay and explore their own backyard at the beautiful Bay of Fires.
Both the living areas and the deck have a sheltered northerly aspect, maximising the sunshine whilst inside the wood heater will warm the whole cottage on a chilly day.
There are three small bedrooms, with the primary bedroom appointed a queen-sized bed, while the second and third offer the comfort of double beds.
Whilst a beach shack, the cottage has been furnished and equipped with comfort in mind. Kitchen is fully quipped including microwave, full oven and coffee machine. Gas bbq on the deck is provided for outdoor cooking.
TV reception is provided through the VAST regional satellite tv network, providing access to a wide range of free to air channels. There is a section of DVDs available, CD and iPod speakers and a selection of books and games. There is also no mobile reception, however a signal is available a short walk along the beach or drive up the road ( for at least Telstra and Optus customers).
Located in the Bay of Fires Conservation Area, renowned for its pristine white beaches, turquoise waters and magnificent orange lichen covered rock formations. The area is abundant with natural wildlife including a rich array of birdlife and native fauna (wombats and wallabies) whilst the rocky outcrops form some magnificent clear rock pools. With a number of beaches and coves to explore, activities include snorkelling and diving, surfing, kayaking and bushwalking. The fishing in the area is renown - catch salmon off Taylors Beach, bream in Sloop Lagoon or head into Georges Bay for boat hire, charter or good jetty fishing.
