Studio NESS is my personal art studio, now opened up as a Younique Airbnb stay where you can step into the artistic process rather than simply observing it. Surrounded by my wildlife-inspired artworks, the space is designed to spark ideas, slow you down and give you permission to play – whether you’re an experienced artist or someone who hasn’t picked up a pencil since school.
The studio features one comfortable queen bedroom, ideal for solo retreats or a creative escape for two. Just off the sleeping area, you’ll find a light, open studio space where you can sketch, journal, plan your next project or simply sit with a cuppa and let your mind wander. It’s a relaxed, welcoming environment – more like staying in an artist friend’s studio than a standard holiday rental.
Outside, a sunny deck and backyard give you extra room to breathe. Start the day with morning light and birdsong, or unwind in the afternoon after a walk along the sand. There are no water views from the property, but the ocean is incredibly close – you’re about 200 metres from Scamander Beach, so you can easily wander down with a sketchbook, camera or just your thoughts.
Practicalities are taken care of too. Scamander Supermarket is roughly 100 metres away, so you can grab supplies, snacks and last-minute bits without needing to jump in the car. It keeps things simple – more time for making, less time for logistics.
